They went back to dedicated servers? Modern Warfare 2 did not have them, and neither did Black Ops, so unless it came back in Modern Warfare 3 which I honestly have be interested in.

I think Warhammer 40k Space Marine has p2p as in downloading data, because since i used this lag fix, it's been running great, even though the host sucked lag and ruins things...

So you are saying W40K didn't download from the Steam Servers and actually from some other person's computer?

The fu-?  No, I am saying that the game is downloading data TO the host, or players, I forget which one I was thinking at the time, and that creates lag for that specific player.  I suck when it comes to explaining things if you had not yet noticed by now...

another lag fix!

Got Prototype, got lots of lag (most ppl do apparently on their good computers), searched up a lag fix for prototype, found this!

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/942352-prototype/50769753

Note : I know, they said this already, but just making sure, DO NOT disable Mouse and Keyboard HIDs.

Prototype's singleplayer.  There have been a LOT of complaints because the game lags, because there is so much goin' on, like hundreds, maybe thousands of civilians in one area in your field of vision, with tanks and infected mutant creatures, plus choppers and smoke.   Plus the combo animations you make when using active powers.  I tried it, went from lag infested, to lag free, instantly.  Had no lag at all.  I even lagged on the lowest settings possible, now I run Prototype on Medium (lags on v-sync though).

lol "hundreds of civilians"

Also of course v-sync would give you lower frame rates. It caps it..

Church you know you can just take a screenshot by the way to use as evidence instead of your word (which is not very credible)

Tried something else now.  I was reading about some errors, like the black screen issues, on dead island, cuz, you know, I might get that game next.  So, I was reading about it, read a post on the dead island forums on how to fix it, and everyone was praising him like that should have been the only post there for them.  So, I tried it on Tribes, and I tried the highest settings on there.  It ran so freaking awesome.

--Instructions on this simple [mini] lag fix--

- Open the task manager (in this case, Tribes, or any other game).
- Hover your cursor over the target process (Tribes Ascend.exe) and right-click.
- Hit Properties.
- Go to the Compability tab.
- in the five check boxes under -Settings-, check the one that says "Disable desktop composition".
- Hit OK or Apply
------------------------------

I don't know if it's that obvious, I just figured this out really...I don't know what it does, but it works.  It solved some black screen, screen flickering, and screen lag issues of mine.  Hooray for ultra settings on Tribes: Ascend!

Ok, I just found something weird, and probably annoying.  Everytime you launch APB R, it's gonna re-install the C++ 2005 thingy over and over again.  Just uninstall it every time and you should be fine.

dont use the launcher, go to the map and find the .exe that starts the game, it will not install it when you do it that way, and you'll only have to use the launcher when you need to download a patch.

I have 12 different versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. I don't know if I should uninstall any of them because a program might need it. Does this help lag in all games? If it does, I don't know if I should uninstall or not.
