Jumping jetpacks! Firefall has finally flown the beta coop and fired up its thrusters, sending the MMO shooter soaring into full release. If the long development period has left you a little fuzzy on the Firefall details, Red 5 has provided a new trailer giving a bird’s eye view of the action you could encounter as a fully suited soldier for hire.

Of course, if you’ve been around the Copacabana block you may wondering what’s in it for you. Well to start, several new zones with biomes involving more than sandy beaches, a more streamlined leveling experience, simplified crafting and oh yeah! Giant raid bosses known as Titans, like the one teased at the end of the above trailer or this underground lava worm featured below:

As for those who enjoy PvP, may I suggest Planetside 2? Firefall of course, ditched its instance PvP a while back, but the MMO has added a brand new zone where the only rules around are the ones you govern yourself by. Those who brave this wild west can enjoy thumping for resources and securing bases while fending off rival groups of players in a zone built entirely with PvP in mind.

When it comes to long term appeal, it will be interesting to see where Firefall heads next now that the game has officially launched. Players interested in trying the changes out for themselves can download the game through Steam or on the official site here.

i played yesterday and man the game still having the same old bugs like random crashes, connection errors after logging out, mass lag after dying and respawning, extremely huge time delay at the New You or battleframe garage and others, a few quest bugs etc, and they called it an official launch?? wth!! they didin’t fixed anything and they’ll never gonna be able to do so, it’s no way my pc could be the problem as i play warframe, warthunder, planetside 2 without trouble.

RED5 JUST CAN’T PATCH THE GAME UP, not playing anymore.

i really hope this got better, I’ve given this game so many chances. Started playing it a couple days ago again there was a couple of improvements, but didn’t seem that much different than it was a couple months ago, it was a lot emptier though, hopefully the game finally is as good as it always seemed it could be.

It really hasn’t got any better, in fact, it’s far worse than before. Everything remotely innovative has been stripped right out of the game. The mostly horizontal character progression has been changed to straight vertical, the map is divided up into rigid level-specific zones, there is no major territorial battles with the chosen anymore, everything is grindy as all hell, and crafting has been dumbed down as much as conceivably possible. This game is now just another World of Warcraft clone with the added perk of giving you carpal tunnel.

I’m online right now playing it, its fun, but unless you have a good cpu, expect to play at low settings. game is very cpu bounded.
