Want another free-to-play arena battler, this one with fast-paced action, cartoony graphics, and the ability to switch your heroes on the fly? Then Pixeleap’s BattleSouls might be worth checking out when it launches next month.

The objective of BattleSouls is to destroy the opposing team’s soul crystals before they destroy yours. You’ll have five classes available to accomplish that, and, as the teaser video demonstrates, you can select three before a match and instantly switch between them while fighting. There are four different maps to choose from and battles are expected to last around 10-15 minutes.

BattleSouls launches on Steam May 12, but the beta’s been going on for some time now. If you’ve had a chance to try it out, let us know what you thought!

Swapping classes on the fly? What a terrible idea. Problem with the new generation of gaming is that programmers are in charge of the development of the game entirely. There is never a creative individual coming up with ideas for a game. This swapping classes on the fly is a perfect example of someone who’s not the slightest bit creative.

    Hi everyone,
I am one of the devs on the project, we have been working on this for about 18 months now, and I can see from your comments, that maybe the trailer we did doesn’t really explain the game very well.
If you want to see the gameplay explained a little more, I did a video about it about a month ago that you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERh8NxvWJp8

i see it more offensive and salty when devs are offering such crap to play…. think about it, they are laughing at us. they like:
    – “dude lets make some cheap crap with ugly graphics idiotism, and i’m sure there will be lots of them to play and buy some sht, we earn some money and shut the fk it down. – ok we have 50$ lets make a game”

looks kind of dreary on the mundane & doesn’t seem to fluid enough in its game movement & play.
