Masthead Studios has revealed some of their upcoming features for GUNS and ROBOTS. The new features are scheduled to be released sometime in Spring and include new maps, weapons, a new ladder system and for the first time new devices. For players looking to try out the new additions they can expect to be able to track their progress as they progress up the ladder. I’m particularly interested in checking out some of the other map designs. When I tried the beta only one map was available and although the map was fairly intricate, it did loose its luster after a couple dozen rounds. The game only recently got its second map.

An interesting addition that surely will change up the combat dynamics a bit is the new devices. Some devices will allow players to setup stationary auto turrets or deploy a little nan o-robot that self destructs when an unfortunate mechanical being strolls by. The addition of stationary offensive “tech” options could allow for more diversified builds that center around these devices.

Players can expect more details regarding the upcoming features in the coming months. I’d say for the game’s sake it needs to be on the shorter side of the coming months.

The game idea is good but the gameplay is kinda slow and can get boring really quick. I was hoping for a huge update with drastic changes but I guess they will just stick to that..not mounted.

The new update will introduce those drastic changes we all hope about. Free bots should be strong enough and lots of credits per round. Hmm…
