JC Planet has announced that their free to play, shooter MMORPG, Metal Reaper, has now moved to a global Public Beta Test. You can check out the game by downloading the client from the Metal Reaper Online website.

Metal Reaper Online takes place in a not all that distant future where the world has been grouped up into two alliances: the Asia Federation and the Atlantic Federation. While these two factions have historically worked together, the crashing of a space colonization vessel has led to all out war between the two federations.

On the character front, don’t expect a ton of customization. Metal Reaper Online has preset characters that are loosely based on the branches of the military. Each character comes with their own unique skill sets and weapon customization.

With multiple modes, dungeons, non-targeted shooting, and a low PC requirement, Metal Reaper may be a nice way to spend an afternoon. I’ll wait until I get some hands on time to see if it will do anymore than that though.
