With Lord of the Rings Online headed to Helm's Deep later this year, anticipation for new content for the popular MMORPG is soaring. Not content, however, with having fans wait until the new expansion arrives, developer Turbine is already preparing to launch Update 11: Treachery of the White Hand on May 13th. This new update continues the story in the remote region of Wildermore which is located in Eastern Rohan where the area has been hard hit by an unnatural and deadly winter rumored to be caused by a Stone Giant named Núrzum, under the control of Saruman of course.

Included in the update are five new areas, Writhendowns, The Fallows, Whitshaws, High Knolls, and Balewood, which will have players saving refugees, fighting to protect townsfolk, searching for young ents, and more. In addition to these areas Turbine has revamped the mounted combat system, introducing new class-specific traits to enhance your mounted combat skills, while bonuses to mobility have been moved from traits to your base steed. Players will also be awarded Hobbit Presents every day they log into LOTRO. I'm curious, what do Hobbits give as presents? A pint? Or how about a ring to rule them all?

Grind? I don't think so. Feels more of an adventure than a grind. The storyline is great and the side quest aren't too long. The only thing that's remotely grindy is the deeds and it's usually covered by questing.

To each their own I guess.

They need to update the gameplay a bit. LOTRO is a massive grind of a game.. even to level 60 or so (whatever's right after Moria) it took a considerably long time.
