i don’t mind level boosts for the most part. for Wildstar it might bring in income but may hurt the game more than expected. i haven’t played in a long time, but when i did people quit when they hit the cap due to the ‘hardcore’ nature of the game. if the difficulty is still high itll just scare those players off sooner rather than later.

Just a few side notes first…. yes you can buy patron time with REX in Rift, and the high level ‘tutorial’ in WoW is called Proving Grounds and gates you from heroics but not normal dungeons.

For the question of the week… I don’t have a problem with boosts in general, if someone truly does not like leveling, I would rather they buy a boost than have to deal with them being annoyingly rushy in my leveling dungeons. Get the boost and get out of my hair! My only thing about boosts really is that if you’re going to use them… please… PLEASE… take some time to read your abilities and maybe read some guides or something before throwing yourself into group content. And furthermore, please listen to your team when you’re in group content if we have advice for you. Nobody wants Dippy the tank charging headlong into things and holding zero aggro. As for Wildstar specifically, the only thing I can say about a younger game getting it so soon, is that there is more of a chance that people who boost won’t know their classes, resulting in the aforementioned. Me? I’d rather level, it’s the journey not the destination. But maybe that comes from me being an RPer. Even when I’m not RPing with someone I am somewhat ‘in character’ while leveling at least in my head.

QotW: I don’t mind the max level boost. its a good way to roll another character if you want. Plus the end game gear is a much higher level than the level 50 level cap anyways. It wouldn’t put you at an equal playing field as other max level characters. All you will really have are a bunch of level 50 noobs running around, but I think it is a good way to invite more players to try there game. Da-Bomb goes to Riders of Icarus. I have sunk nearly 20 hours in that game in two fucking days. I’m loving it right now.
