I agree that the ideal MMORPG has no quests, if they are not of te same quality as single player game quests. I’d rather have no quests at all than the bad text only average MMORPG quests… its just a huge grind. Also the ideal MMORPG has not too many hackerbots, nice players and no pay 2 win elements.

its not even worth playing for free. garbage game worst AAA mmo yet.

cant believe they are still charging a fee and people bought it. only WOW can get away with that and even WOW sucks now. The mmo genre is dead!!!!!!!!

Elder Scrolls won’t change to free to play, it will shut down.

At least that seems more feasible lol.

Tbh I am amazed that ANY MMOS are still pursuing the Subscription Model. There are so many AAA titles that have gone F2P/2 or 3 tier sub models/B2P in the last few years so how can Sub only compete? Most gamers tend to stick with their favoutite games so any new MMO would have to be truly ground breaking to be worth the monthly cost.
Although a lot of hardcore fans moan about the conversion to these models tbh adding a 3 tier model and a cash shop totally revitslised SWTOR. If these games refuse to drop the sub only model then I personally think they will be doomed given the mind bending amount of MMOS that you can get for little or no money.

I can see both eso and wildstar going f2p sooner or later.

  9. Deadnstien on January 4, 2015

I think there is an 80% of ESO going FTP or BTP with an optional sub in 2015 and a 50% chance of Wildstar doing the same, with 100% of both being FTP or BTP as late as 4th quarter 2016. I believe anyone interested in them and willing to pay a sub at this point are already playing or have played and moved on. They need to start exploring other options if they want continued growth.

it seems the mmorpg the secret world is already free to play but you have to buy the game frist then you can free to play it all you want… it looks like elder scrolls online will following the same thing

I think that elder scrolls online will not be free to play just for the fact that taking down an option to buy for a longer amount of game time, does not mean it will be coming to an end for pay to play. I think Wildstar will go free to play just for the fact that it hasn’t been doing to well.

Elder scrolls and wildstar Probably will be free to play but Depends on the company’s, but I could say Elder Scrolls will be free to play.
