Some free-to-play games are more polarizing than others, with some sides taking the stance of “great, totally non-exploitative implementation” and others thinking “total pay-to-win trash.” We’d like to see on what side of the spectrum the gaming public — and by that, we mean you guys — think of certain F2P games, and so we’ve invented something new called Love It Or Hate It?
Every week, we’ll present a new F2P game and give you the option of passing judgment on it. Then we’ll look back at it the next week and see what people thought. There are no prizes, except for the satisfaction of knowing you clicked on a button and made something happen. Really, what else do you need?
So EverQuest is a little on the downswing, to put it mildly. We only had 168 votes, but it’s still generally well-liked by the people who play it: 31% like versus 16% hate. Point: I’ve never played original EverQuest. I’ll get to it someday.
But I have played EverQuest II, granted for just a few hours after it went free-to-play. These days, it does seem more populated and popular than its iconic predecessor, so let’s see how it does in the polls!
Tell us what you think of EverQuest II, and leave a comment below to expound upon your views!
EQ2 is not F2P but F2S, & Free to Start means you cannot reach endgame content without purchasing an expansion, meaning you’re literally paying to win, so it really is P2W. Also they have some harsh restrictions, bags, vspells, & characters get locked away if your subscription stops, while other F2P games let you keep all of it as a reward for having spent $15 & only nix the various boosts. Paying players get higher tier spells, heroic characters…not so different from buying stat enhancing equipment.
what the biased heck this poll was at a 20% hate and 24% like now it’s 16% hate the lies
i hate freemium games!
Is there any post on the site, that has every previous poll collected in it? It’s quite hard, if I try to look up every previous game one by one for comparison.
