ArcheAge S: Strait Of Freedom Dev Video

It’s going to be a while before players get their hands on Kakao Games’ next entry in the ArcheAge universe, but that doesn’t mean the developers aren’t willing to share some details on the MMORPG now. ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom (where the “S” means Strait as well) has a naval focus, just at the name indicates. Of course, that’s not all they want players to know about the game.

In a 17-minute video, the ArcheAge S team shares details about the process that went into designing a game that feels more alive and interconnected that the less, which included looking at what was and wasn’t successful in the original ArcheAge and trimming the fat.

The video looks at the main features of the game and how they’re interconnected, creating a proper flow for players. Many of the things discussed will sound pretty standard for MMOs, such as progression being related to weapons and skills, as well as gathering resources to improve them. Of course, that requires players to explore and engage in activities like dungeon runs. And yes, there will be PvP, because there will be things for players to fight over, such as resources being moved via land and sea. There will even be naval combat of some variety.

As for combat itself, players can look forward to isometric combat blending WASD and point-and-click movement.

At the end of the video, an upcoming Q&A was teased. So, players looking for more information should keep an eye out for that.
