2D MMORPG Kakele Online Introduces “Multiverse System” To Address Server Population Issues
Think cross-world action but with more.

Players of MMORPGs are more than familiar with the problem of dwindling servers. As the game gets older, newer ones come out, or stuff comes up in people’s lives, the population can become smaller and smaller. Normally, the solution to this is to merge servers – something that can disrupt things by making players change their names, lose properties, have to leave a certain amount of items behind, or more.
After several years in action, the free-to-play 2D MMORPG Kakele Online has found itself need to deal with that issue, but rather than going straight for mergers, they’ve decided to try something different the “Multiverse System”. Based on their description, it seems you can think of it as more or less cross-server play.
The game’s most recent update introduces this feature, eliminating server lock-in. That means players can freely travel between worlds to get things done. Even without hopping worlds it seems they’ll find themselves having more people to do things with, at least in the main hubs where players will be able to see, interact, and chat with each other despite not being from the same server.
In addition to the server changes, the update also features some visual and UI overhauls and adds more endgame content. The former includes the introduction of dynamic lighting. The latter introduces new story content, pets, and more.
