Being A Human In Guild Wars 3 Is Different From The Previous Games
Players will discover what it was like for the first humans to come to Tyria.

ArenaNet is busy hyping ArenaNet fans up for the next entry in the Guild Wars franchise. To help familiarize players with what is effectively a prequel, the Guild Wars 3 devs have decided to share details on the MMORPG’s playable races across four blog posts. The first post covers a race, that while being part of the Guild Wars story, is not actually native to Tyria.
As Guild Wars 3 takes place before the other games, players who choose to play as humans will be new to the world – not just as players, but narratively-speaking. The humans are gaining a foothold with expanding guilds and building a home. And, obviously, they haven’t fallen yet.
The devs detail the humans’ short history in Tyria in the blog post, explaining how they were purposefully brought to the world by gods. It goes on to describe humanity’s home in Tyria, Orr, as well as the inhabitants that already existed there, the Vael and their complicated relationship. Players also learn a bit more about the Vaelwardens in this post as well.
Obviously, we’re not going to rewrite a whole lore post. Our job it to let you know it exists and give you a general rundown. If you’re interested in the entire thing, it’s definitely worth a trip to the Guild Wars 3 site. Keep in mind there will be more posts coming as well.
