Kakao Games Announces Launch Window For The Next ArcheAge Game, ArcheAgeS: Straight Of Freedom
Would-be players can expect even more information soon.

It’s been just a bit over a month since Kakao Games announced the next game flying the ArcheAge banner, ArcheAge, S: Straight of Freedom. Since then, we haven’t heard a lot about the game. That’s typically how these things work after all. The company give you a tease and you’re left to wait until they’re ready to tell you more about it.
When the game was announced, Kakao told us that the game is building on what players have come to expect from an ArcheAge game while updating it for current audiences. We were also informed that the project is being headed by the original ArcheAge’s lead designer, Kim Kyung-tae.
Admittedly, we don’t really know any more than that at this point, aside from two things. Thanks to a press release from the company sent out today, we now know that the game will be launching in Q2 of 2027 on Steam. That’s good news for Steam enjoyers. We also know that the team plans to share more information about the upcoming MMORPG via a developer preview video later this month. The video will feature members of the dev team talking about the thought process behind the game and showing off some gameplay. While I doubt it, perhaps we’ll also find out what the plans are for monetizing this game, and whether it will be some flavor of free-to-play or not.
