Astrae Oratio Reveal

About a month ago, NC dropped its first teaser for a new game called Astrae Oratio. The video shows no game content and consists of black and white panels with text describing the game’s setting, which happens to be a version of 1989’s Tokyo, where magic exists, and a governing body oversees the laws of that magic.

Since then, they’ve dropped a story trailer introducing a little more of the game’s world, and today, a character teaser. Beyond these trailers, there’s a bit of information about the game on its official site: a general description of the world and information on some of the characters. There have also been several story comics released.

Today, NC announced that the game, which is apparently coming out sometime this year, will be published by Korean developer Dynamis One and shared a character preview trailer – which features a bit of gameplay.

From what we can tell, the game does appear to be a gacha-based action game, which wouldn’t be surprising. The more interesting thing is that the game’s story revolves around magical girls and features an art style reminiscent of 90’s anime. Only, perhaps a bit cleaner. For fans of the genre, it might prove to be interesting. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see. But, since we’re halfway through 2026, we shouldn’t have to wait too long.
