Nova Era: Atom Playtest

Fans of sci-fi MMORPGs looking for something a bit different might be interested in checking on Nova Era: Atom’s open playtest on Steam, which kicked off today. The game is a combination of space exploration and extraction and is built around elements of Chinese mythology.

During the test, players will be spending time in a “high-dimensional universe” known as the sTring Realm. Not only is it filled with galaxies to explore, alien creatures, and the like, it also boasts abandoned megastructures.

As players explore the universe and gather resources, they’ll be able to customize their spaceship, known as a Flux-Copre Vessel and improve various systems by combining weapons, defenses, propulsion components, and modifications in different ways. They’ll also be able to use hot-swappable chips to adapt their ships, even in combat.

To take part in the test, players will need to sign up via Steam. As mentioned, playtest is already live, but developer Amazing Game is still allowing players to request access, and state that players will be notified when they are ready to add more participants. The test will run through October 11, so there’s still time to get in.
