Old School RuneScape Drops ‘The Blood Moon Rises’ Grand Master Quest, Bringing A 20-Year Questline To An End
The late-game Grandmaster Quest sends players to Vampyrium for the first time.

Attentive Old School RuneScape players may remember that during RuneFest 2025 Jagex announced the Grandmaster Quest intended to bring a 20-year-long storyline to an end titled ‘The Blood Moon Rises’. The quest, which will take players of the MMORPG to the region of Vampyrium for the first time is finally available to those with membership to play.
The last time an update to this storyline dropped was six years ago with the Sins of the Father quest. Now, players will be exploring a place they’ve been hearing about, fighting new creatures, and even fighting The Maggot King in the latest solo boss encounter. Of course, completing the storyline and boss fight will earn players rewards, including new weapons.
It’s important to note that simply having membership will not grant you access to the new content. You’ll need to have completed the Sins of the Father as well as the A Night at the Theatre quests. There are also several skill level requirements – which shouldn’t be surprising as this is ended to be difficult content. That includes having at least 78 Cooking, 74 Slayer, 72 Mining, 72 Smithing, 70 Fletching, 64 Crafting, and 57 Magic. So, check your stats.
