GW2 Jimothy

If you haven’t heard of Jimothy… well… you probably don’t spend much time on social media. That’s probably a good thing, but it does mean you’ve missed out on a pretty cute creature. Jimothy is a raccoon from Seattle, Washington known for its unique body shape.

According to Wikipedia, there’s some dispute as to the raccoon’s age and no one knows it’s gender. What we do know is that the fuzzball became an internet sensation earlier this month after a video was shared on Instagram by Kiana Hall where she gave it the name everyone knows it by.

Since then it’s been the subject of memes and has been immortalized in World of Warcraft. It’s also making its way into Guild Wars 2 on August 11. Of the two MMORPGs, GW2 seems a bit more like the obvious home, the reason being that the lady who shared Jimothy with everyone is the spouse of one of the developers who work on the free-to-play game.

ArenaNet shared news of Jimothy’s addition to the game on LinkedIn recently. It’s a bit of an interesting choice for that kind of announcement, but you can see the little critter in action there. To obtain your own Jimothy in game, you’ll need to find it in Tyria and unlock a mini version.
