Hi-Rez Studios announced that the highly anticipated Closed Beta for Tribes: Ascend will begin on November 4, 2011.

The Tribes games have been played by well over 1 million gamers and feature fast-paced, jetpack-enabled multiplayer combat. Tribes: Ascend continues that tradition, delivering speed, verticality, vehicles and stunning graphics as a free-to-play game for the PC.

Those wishing to guarantee a spot in the Closed Beta may purchase the Tribes: Ascend VIP Starter Bundle at the game’s official website. The bundle includes automatic admission into all Beta phases, as well as permanent VIP status in the game, a 30-day Booster and 800 Tribes Gold. The VIP Starter Bundle is priced at a 33% discount to list price, as a reward to the game’s early testers.

This initial phase of Closed Beta will include Hi-Rez-managed servers in North America, Europe, and Australia, and will include a subset of content and features planned for the launch release. Additional information regarding the features included in the initial Closed Beta can be found in the online FAQ.

The Tribes: Ascend Closed Beta will be invitation only. Interested players can register at http://www.tribesascend.com.

i may be mistaken but this game looks oddly familiar to another game that is being developed. And as much as i would like to test this game. not gonna pay 30$ to TEST, not play but test a game that is meant to be f2p. Seems like there lil way of tryin to turn a profit b4 the game even launches. And the simple fact they wanna make you pay for a garrentee beta slot, is really scummy. if the game was p2p or even b2p then i can see the beta key being a reward for pre order. but a game that is meant to be f2p should never basicly charge money for a beta key. id rather pay 20$ with tentonhammer and get 5 times as many beta keys daily. One another note though, looks like a good game, but ill stick with firefall seeing as they havnt given any idication for p2w.

if im right there might be a price for the game but its most likely gonna be like Global Agenda vip / elite status 1 off payment and no weapons in the store the items in store r most likely gonna be cosmetic like helmets masks colors for ur jet packs and so on but never weapons u cant get ingame from pve / pvp instances but its f2p and if u like it u can pay once

well hopefully thats how its gonna be
