Where Winds Meet Goes “Eastern Steampunk” In Version 2.0
Explore a mechanized mountain and build your own unique vehicle.

While it hasn’t yet been a year since Everstone Studio’s free-to-play open-world Wuxia game Where Winds Meet officially launched globally (Based on our posts, it’s been about eight months.), Version 2.0 has been announced. In fact, it’s slated to release in about a week, on July 23.
When the expansion, titled “Hidden Mountain” drops it will introduce a very different vibe to the game, one the devs describe as “Eastern Steampunk”. The Hidden Mountain is a “multi-dimensional vertical map” with a lot of mechanized features – as you can see in the trailer below. The mountain is the home of a new sect, the Mohist, which brings together legendary masters of ancient enginnering. Over time they have turned the interior of the mountain intoa giant mechanism filled with various devices. That means there will be a lot of puzzle solving.
To get around in this new zone, players will be able to use all their previously gained skills as well as mechanical devices. Everything is explorable. Players will also be able to build their own custom vehicle using various components.
Of course, a new sect means a new one for players to join. The Mohist Hill Sect is for the crafters, and is the game’s first building-specialized sect. It offers special buffs to architectural and mechanical crafting abilities.
The update also introduces the new Gauntlet discipline, letting players get up close with their enemies in combat.
The other big news about this update is that the devs have implemented visual and audio upgrades. This includes a new light rendering and ray-tracing system as well as the introduction of layered acoustics based on wind dynamics.
