World Of Warships: Legends’ New Modern Era Battle Mode Brings New Cold War-Era Ships

Yesterday, Wargaming dropped a new World of Warships: Legends update, celebrating seven years of seafaring war action and introducing a new line of ships. To celebrate the anniversary, Wargaming has lined up special activities and rewards. Some activities are in-game, allowing players to obtain birthday-themed rewards from Explorer’s Chests, including some form previous years. A Grand Explorer’s Chest will drop items like exclusive golden ships or the new German Legendary Tier battleship Mecklenburg. Players can also earn rewards via a web-based treasure hunt.

As for the update’s content, it introduces the new limited-time Modern Era battle mode to the free-to-play war shooter. The mode features ships inspired by the Cold War and new modern tech like homing and cruise missles, EMP waves, and more. Playing the mode will unlock a series of rewards including a Commonwealth Tier VI Premium light cruiser.

In addition, a new campaign is now available. Noble Lombard is a five week campaign featuring 100 milestones and plenty of rewards. Players who have Admirality Backing will receive an Italian Tier VIII Premium cruiser, the Ferrante Gonzanga at the end.

Finally, a new U.S. Legendary Tier arcraft carrier, the Franklin D. Roosevelt is available to purchase in the Forge section of the Store. More details on the patch can be found in the notes on the game’s site.
