You Asked For Them, You’re Getting Them. Dragons Are Coming To Albion Online

Apparently, Albion Online players have been asking the devs to put dragons into the free-to-playh MMORPG for some time now. And all that asking has finally paid off. Today, Sandbox Interactive announced ‘Dragonfire’, the new update arriving on August 31. This is a “major expansion” for the game, introducing a new realm, equipment, combat, and even a special (difficult to obtain) mount. And, of course, there are the dragons.

When the game’s new story arc begins, The Ashborn will have completed rituals to awaken dragons. Of course, we can’t just leave them well enough alone, so players will be seeking out a very specific dragon, Azaryon, in its lair. The lair won’t be easy to access, but those who manage to do so and defeat the Fire Dragon will walk away with rewards. If you’re not feeling up to fighting the big dragon, there are outbreaks on the Royal Continent and in the Outlands to deal with.

Another side effect of all these rituals is that portals have opened to a new (to you) realm known as the Ancient lands where a series of island float above Albion. Be careful visiting as these islands are filled with Drakes. Of course, there’s treasure to be had too.
