  1. On the whole Rift/Gamigo thing: I wholeheartedly agree both that they bought Trion for Trove, and that Rift will be the next to go. I would be surprised if it lasted the year. In fact, I have been saying both of those things for quite some time. Though I haven’t played since shortly after the sale, I have been watching both the forums, and the fansites.

    Here is supporting evidence:
    – The forums have had consistent complaints of tickets going unanswered, server instability, decrease in population, and of course lack of communication.
    – Of the remaining Trion games, only Rift no longer has livestreams
    – Of the two fansites I frequent, one has posted nothing since April, and even before that had taken up following Torchlight Frontiers.
    – Much of what was in that letter was in a previous post, and one item was on the list twice.

    My theory? That letter was an attempt at keeping those still playing complacent. Look, I don’t want Rift to shut down, I love the game. I want better for it. But the writing is on the wall.
