A lot has been happening in the world as of late. Following the invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, multiple businesses around the world have responded by cutting ties with Russia in a showcase of their obvious disdain. The latest company to join the ranks and pull the plug on Russian involvement is Wargaming, the developer of World of Tanks, World of Warships, and World of Warplanes. The company has decided it will no longer own or operate any businesses in Russia and Belarus and will leave both countries.

Also, on March 31st, the company transferred its live games business in Russia and Belarus to local management of Lesta Studio that is “no longer affiliated with Wargaming.” On top of that, Wargaming has also started the process of closing its studio in Minsk, Belarus.

Wargaming finished the announcement by ensuring that, “as a company, [we] are confident in the future of our business and are committed to delivering quality games to our players.” The move sees Wargaming expecting to lose money in the process, "The company will not profit from this process either today or going forward. Much to the contrary we expect to suffer substantial losses as a direct result of this decision."
