Less Than A Year After Launching, BANDAI NAMCO Announces GUNDAM EVOLUTION's Shutdown
Until then, updates will continue for the free-to-play multiplayer shooter game.
Good night, sweet mecha.
BANDAI NAMCO announced that GUNDAM EVOLUTION will shut down for good on November 29. “We wanted to create a title that brought FPS fans and Gundam fans together,” the developer team wrote. “Unfortunately, we have determined that it is no longer possible for us to provide a service that satisfies our players.”
Before the service ends, updates will continue on, including Season 6 on August 23, which introduces one new unit and two maps. Then, the final season — Season 7 — will drop on October 25, featuring a new unit and map. Players can still use EVO Coins until the end of service, though sales of EVO Coins and certain items will be terminated on July 26.
No refunds or returns will be possible for previously purchased items.
After ending EVO Coin sales, there will be more opportunities for players to earn Capital Points through events and campaigns to unlock new units. Season 7 will continue with increased Capital Points earnings, but earning titles will no longer be possible. For further details and updates, BANDAI NAMCO will be hosting a “Mission Briefing Final” stream on July 21.
