Eve Online Equinox

Nullsec is going to be a bit different for Eve Online players come June. That’s not to say safer. Well, it might be safer for some, but really it’s still nullsec. CCP Games announced a new update for their space MMORPG this week titled Equinox. While the update introduces a good bit of new content, like cosmetic changes, the big change is what the update is named after.

Equinox offers players a new way to control and use resources from the planets in nullsec. It all begins with the newly-built Upwell prototyping facility in the Auviken system, which players have only recently discovered is a prototype orbital skyhook. Orbital skyhooks will increase the efficiency of planet-to-space transfers, offering leaders in nullsec a way to move workforces and resources more easily.

Also being introduced is the Metenox Moon Drill. This automated resource extraction structure lets corporations concentrate on the other facets of empire-building. In fact, most of the things being introduced in Equinox do. There are quite a few new structures that players will be relying on to carve out their bit of nullsec.

As mentioned above, one of the other features included in the Equinox update will be new cosmetic options. The SKINR platform is being expanded and players will have more options for dressing up their ships.

Equinox is slated to drop on June 11. Following that, a limited-time event will take place in Eve Vanguard. The event will begin on June 20 and be available to those subscribed to the Eve Online Omega service.
