Load Up On The Indie Games With This Week's Free EGS Offerings
Indie game fans, this week's Epic Games Store free offerings are definitely for you. This week, the store has three games available for free, normally ranging in price from $8 to $15. Included in the offerings are two rogue-likes -- a sci-fi platformer: 20XX and a fantasy-themed one: Barony. The third game is the fantasy action adventure game Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP.
20XX is designed with fans of Mega Man in mind and is an action platformer that can be played with a friend. It features full co-op play for players locally or online and even supports crossplay between Epic and Steam.
Barony offers up to four players a co-op fantasy rouge-like, dungeon-crawling experience. Slay monsters, collect treasures, and defeat the forces of evil. The game is inspired by classics like Ultimate Underworld, System Shock, and Daggerfall.
Finally, if you're looking for something a bit more solo, then you'll want to hit up Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. The game is an exploratory action adventure game with a lot of style and an impressive soundtrack.
As always, the games are available for free over the next week, at which point you'll have to pony up some cash because developers like to eat.
