New World Talks Inventory Overhaul, Separate PvE & PvP Balancing, DX12, And More
There's a lot to cover in the latest Happenings from Aeternum.
New World has dropped a Happening From Aeternum update blog for us today, going over some of the most asked questions about the MMORPG. In today's post, they discuss inventory overhaul, separate PvE & PvP balancing, DX12 support, and more.
We'll start with the inventory/storage overhaul talk. The New World devs agree that the storage shed system is very frustrating in terms of organization, and they are actively looking into revamping the system. There are some technical hurdles to overcome given how the system is currently implemented in-game, but it is something they are looking to improve.
The first part of separate PvE & PvP balancing comes with Season 3 with a new system to replace some of the balance achieved through the "required" perks. The New World team will continue to build on this so that PvE & PvP changes don't make for bad updates to each other.
There are no plans currently for solo Expeditions.
Upon the launch of New World, the developers initially stated that DX12 support would be coming in a few months. That hasn't happened yet, and the team says that other improvements have taken priority. They've been working on things like shaders and other optimization, and want to remind players that DX12 is not a "magic bullet" for optimization.
