Rainbow Six Siege Y8S4 Update

Rainbow Six Siege is mid-Season 3 of Year 8, and that makes it time to look forward to Season 4. Coming in Season 4 is a new map, a new versus AI playlist, a beta for a revamp to shields, controller remapping, and an update to frag grenades.

Rainbow Six Siege Y8 Roadmap

The Rainbow Six Siege team is working on a new map on the foundation of verticality. The new map will feature layouts and avenues for fresh strategic possibilities. The map will be revealed in full on the Y8S4 reveal panel on November 12th.

Season 4 of the shooter will include a new versus AI Playlist tailored to let new players sharpen their skills against AI Defender bots. The new AI Playlist will allow newer Rainbow Six Siege players to practice and strategize in a training environment.

Coming later in Season 4 will be the beta for balance changes to the shield. Shields are being redesigned from the ground up to be more immersive but retain a unique playstyle.

Controller remapping will finally be available in Season 4. It's a long-requested feature and it's good to see it making its way into Rainbow Six Siege.

Frag grenades are currently a bit OP in Rainbow Six Siege, so the dev team is working on a rebalance to bring them more in line with other secondary gadgets.

Coming in Year 9 will be some unannounced changes to ranked requirements, and Privacy mode on consoles has been canceled following some late-stage issues that arose and the inclusion of more privacy settings within consoles themselves.

We can expect more details on everything during the Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 Season 4 reveal coming on November 12th.
