Revan

BioWare’s going back to its roots for its upcoming digital expansion to Star Wars: The Old Republic — all the way back to the first Knights of the Old Republic game, in fact.

Coming Dec. 9, Shadow of Revan will increase the level cap to 60, while adding new worlds, new flashpoints, and new operations. The story of the expansion revolves around the Revanites, a mysterious sect supposedly led by Revan, the most prominent character (no spoilers!) from the first KOTOR game, whom players will apparently encounter in person, according to the announcement. That’s a pretty neat trick, considering that KOTOR took place about 300 years before SWTOR.

Players can pre-order the expansion now for $19.99, receiving all kinds of special bonuses for doing so:

Players who pre-order by November 2, 2014 will receive:

  • One week of Early Access to Shadow of Revan starting December 2
  • Exclusive Grand Statue of Revan to display in Player Strongholds
  • The Digital expansion: Rise of the Hutt Cartel (subscribers automatically receive Rise of the Hutt Cartel)

Players who pre-order by December 1, 2014 will receive:

  • Exclusive Grand Statue of Revan to display in Player Strongholds
  • The Digital Expansion Rise of the Hutt Cartel (subscribers automatically receive Rise of the Hutt Cartel)

Subscribers who pre-order the digital expansion will receive a Class Experience Boost as a bonus with the following details:

  • Players are offered 12x experience gain while playing exclusively through class story missions up to Level 55
  • The boost is effective immediately and expires on December 1, 2014

12x experience from story missions? Sounds like “We know the story missions are great, but the rest of the leveling content, not so much, so feel free to skip it.” Hey, they’re not wrong.

So, will you be picking up Shadow of Revan? If you stopped playing, is it enough to bring you back to SWTOR?

i just wish that SWTOR had less restrictions, because it went completely unplayable for me, not to mention the slow and boring leveling

here is not the time to mention it, but after World of Warcraft, ArcheAge is the only MMORPG that really has me hooked up, i cant stop thinking about the damned game

is playable, but like you said. the lvling is a bit boring for F2P since u cant miss a Single quest in order to lvl properly., yet is a nice game. i agreed whit the less restriction, yet i have 4 lvl 55 toons, and around 9 or 10 total toon slot made. all whit farmed credits inside game and helpful friend that hold credits for me as a bank xD.

So, what i don’t get is: if you already are a subscriber, do you automatically get the expansion at dec 9? or do you have to pay for it aswell?

    is this F2P game website?

Yes 🙂 And if the article about SWTOR is throwing you off do not be worried ! SWTOR is officially a F2P game however without putting money into it you are looking at a fairly restricted gameplay experience 🙂

Game is free, the expansion isn’t.
