Elder Scrolls Online Breaks Out The Monsters And Shows Off The Denizens Of Apocrypha
Players will need to face these creatures in their search for endless knowledge.
When The Elder Scrolls Online’s new Necrom chapter arrives in the MMORPG, players will be able to visit the realm belonging to Mermaeus Mora, Apocrypha – in search of endless knowledge. But, as is always the case, there are challenges between the adventurers and what they seek. In the case of this Daedric realm, that would be a variety of creatures.
The ESO team decided to share some of these creatures with players – four, to be precise – in a blog post today. The creatures that players get a first look at are the Seekers, Lurkers, Hushed, and Mind Terrors. The last of these are considered the “most disturbing” of the four, being nightmares from childhood. Think of the shadows on the wall that kept you awake at night while worrying about monsters under your bed.
Of the four, Seekers and Lurkers are the most common residents of the domain, being “naturally occurring." Seekers are tentacled creatures that levitate. They’re known to tend to the books and documents that litter Apocrypha. Lurkers guard the shores of Apocrypha and are monsters that almost appear to be mimicking life.
Different from the Seekers and Lurkers are the Hushed, which are thought to be the husks of mortal loreseekers. The belief is they’ve degraded in mind and body after spending too much time with the Lord of Knowledge’s darkest secrets.
