New World Gets As Festive As Possible With The Winter Convergence Festival
This means the end of the Turkulon event.
Winter has come to New World, bringing with it a special festive event – if beating up a “Winter Warrior” counts as festive. It’s a video game, so that’s probably as close as you’re going to get. Update 1.8, otherwise known as the Winter Convergence Festival Update has arrived, introducing the event of the same name. This event replaces the Turkulon event.
The quest to take on the Winter Warrior introduces a new world boss to the game. Players must stop the Warrior and his Frigid Folk from spreading a “Forever Winter”. The fight is intended for groups of 20 or more and can be fought in Great Cleave, Brightwood, Edengrove, Ebonscale Reach, and Brimsonte Sands. Successful completion means new seasonal rewards.
If you’re not up for a big fight, smaller quests can be obtained in winter villages in Everfall, Monarch’s Buffs, Weaver’s Fen, and Brightwood. Players will need to meet up with the Winter Wanderer to pick up these quests.
The new update also introduces a mutated version of the Starsone Barrows expedition – in a mashup with Amarine. Other changes in this update are tweaks to crafting and refining, groupfinder, and more.
