Report Says League Of Legend Source Code Up For Sale For $700K
Riot refused to pay a ransom on the stolen code.
We reported previously that a hacker had acquired the source code of League of Legends and was ransoming it to Riot for $10 million. Riot refused to pay the ransom and now it appears the code is up for sale on the black market.
According to a report by ESports Heaven, the code is now for sale on the black market with a price tag of $700,000. Along with LoL source code, the hack also reportedly obtained source code for Teamfight Tactics, an older version of Riot's anti-cheat software, and anti-cheat software specifically used in Korea.
ESports Heaven made contact with the hacker who confirmed the hack was executed without the use of malware and was in fact initiated by an SMS text to a Riot employee.
