Star Trek Online's Rise of Discovery Now Live, Adds Scaling For T6 Ships
Star Trek Online's newest featured episode, Rise of Discovery, is now live on PC, with a console launch to follow on June 25. The content sends players back in time to one month before the Battle at the Binary Stars to learn about the history of two characters from Star Trek: Discovery: Captain Gabriel Lorca and his Chief of Security, Commander Ellen Landry, voiced by their actors from the show, Jason Isaacs and Rekha Sharma.
In addition to the Discovery-based content, this chapter also introduces the Tier 6 Reputation "Discovery Legends," and a significant change to the overall game on all platforms: starship scaling. Level restrictions have been removed from Tier 6 starships, letting captains pilot premium ships that will scale to their levels. More info on this feature can be found on the STO blog.
Additionally, until May 26, you can enter a giveaway for a cabin for two on Star Trek: The Cruise IV, a seven-day Caribbean voyage with guests such as William Shatner, Jonathan Frakes, Kate Mulgrew, and Ethan Peck. Details for entering will be provided at this link; as of this writing, the page is just a placeholder. If you win, we don't suggest commandeering the ship and trying to pilot it to the planet Vulcan.
