Slightly Mad Studios’ and My.com’s free-to-play racer World of Speed has a new trailer video today, and it showcases two of the most legendary cars on the rally circuit: the Subaru Impreza WRX STi and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. The cars tear through the streets of London, drifting and careening around corners and motoring down straightaways at breakneck speed.

As you recall from our preview from February, World of Speed isn’t about one-on-one racing, or even free-for-alls. The best action will split players into teams, and you can see that indicated in the trailer, with the Team Blue Impreza and Team Red Lancer. Not seen is the Team Yellow Yugo, but we’re sure it’ll be in the final version. Right?

Closed beta for World of Speed will begin in Q4 2014. You can sign up on the game’s website.

London? I don’t remember seeing alot of streets that wide there. But of course I’ve never seen an empty street in London.

theres wide streets there. street racing was very common before 2011 at night. and i’m not talking about a suped up honda civic, i’m talking about lambo’s vs lambo’s type of stuff.

I’m used to the ultra narrow streets out in the small towns and villages when I’m there lol.

If all there was was lambos the street racing scene probably sucked lol. Tuned Jap cars are the heart and soul of street racing.
