Yoshi-P Drops Update On Housing Lottery Situation In Final Fantasy XIV
Yes. It’s still borked, but they’re working on it.
This morning, Yoshi-P dropped another post detailing where things stand regarding the housing lottery situation in Final Fantasy XIV. Currently, it’s a bit of a good news/bad news situation. The point of the post is that things are progressing, but it’s going to take more time. At present, they’ve completed two of the steps, those being reproducing the issue and fixing the error.
There’s still more that needs to be done. At present, the XIV team is currently testing their fixes on an internal server – something they estimated will take three to five business days. This process is probably going to take longer, however, as the developers are being exact in the process, it will likely take longer. In fact, the post states it could “require several extra days”.
For players and free companies who participated in the first lottery, there is good news there as well. The developers aren’t simply going to have a redo of the first lottery. Instead, they’re currently working to restore the lottery data and are busy testing to make sure things go well when it’s applied to the live server.
What all this boils down to is the fact that we will be waiting a while for the housing lottery to be restored, still. If you were expecting it to arrive on April 26 with the 6.11 update, don’t. That’s not to say the 6.11 update won’t be happening on time. It will. It’s just the housing we’ll be waiting on.
That said, if you already participated in the lottery and actually did win a house and just haven’t claimed it yet – for whatever reason, you should do so before the 6.11 patch. The post doesn’t explicitly state you have to do that, but it seems highly recommended.
