City of Steam Gameplay Trailer

  1. Played it …. meh. Just the same as any other game. Nothing new. Not sure why people keep harking on browser game. It’s the quality of the game you should focus on. Game gets boring too fast. dungeon run after dungeon after dungeon, got boring fast. Skills were increased so players could level faster … not much to say. I could copy and paste any post from other games.

    Nothing new. Nothing new.

Better games out there. I will pass on this one.

    • It’s still better then most other browser based games and looks as good or better then some client base games so give it a try.

  2. In full screen you will never notice your actually playing a browser game! The graphics are extremely good for a browser game and the graphics can match some client games!

  3. for a browser game this game is phenomenal, but the quests are bit a bugged. Also you cant hit esc if you want to get rid of the tabs on your screen if your in full screen. So, i would suggest to talk to the dev team / GM’s on forums about that.

  4. While the graphics kinda reminds me of PS1-PS2 era, this really isn’t bad for a browser game. Unfortunately, I will not be playing this over Path of Exile this weekend. 😛

  5. I tested the game this passed weekend(July 20-22nd). That was the first Alpha test & only included the Human races. The next two Alpha test are for the Elves (July 27-29th) & Ocrs/Goblins/Hobbes(August 3-5th).

The game uses the Unity3D browser plug-in & looks amazing. The CoS staff does a great job of using player feedback to make immediate improvement in game play & content. There will already be many improvements from Alpha weekend 1 to Alpha weekend 2.

I had a lot of fun during the first weekend. CoS is on the right path to being a great game.

    • Hi, it’s Ethan with Mechanist Games, the indie games developer who created City of Steam. Yep, keys are valid for the second and third alpha weekend.

    • In full screen(from the game option & not F11 browser FS) you would never know that this is a browser game. I dislike browser games as well, but this game plays nothing like a browser game.

      Give it a try.
