Genshin Impact Releases New Characters, New Events, And New Lore In A Sudden Information Drop
Everyone cannot stop talking about the Harbingers, and with good reason.
Genshin Impact's Version 2.8 is right around the corner and with that comes a heap of new content. To start, Kazuha wanters and havers will be excited to see that the anemo sword wielder will be on the banner from the start of Version 2.8 along with the new 4-star anemo character Shikanoin Heizou. In addition to Kazuha’s banner will be Klee who will be featured at the same time.
Then the 2.8 update also adds the inclusion of the Summertime Odyssey event that features Kazuha, Fischl, Mona, and Xinyan. In this event players will be able to obtain Primogems, Hero’s Wit, and Mystic Enhancement Ore. Players who want to grab a free copy of Fischl will need to complete the Phantom Realms challenges to obtain enough Iridescent Flotsam to invite the electro character to their team.
In addition to the 2.8 update, Genshin has also released official character art and information on three brand new characters who will arrive sometime during the journey through Sumeru. The first character is Tighnari, a dendro user with long, black, animal-like ears. The next character is a Dendro bow user named Collei. Players might remember Collei as she has been mentioned in the past as a good personal friend of Amber. Lastly, Genshin’s twitter shared a picture of Dori, a pink haired merchant who will wield the Electro element.
Still, with so much talked about and revealed, the biggest excitement was most definitely the Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter Night’s Lazzo. “No one knows how long it has been since all the Fatui Harbingers last gathered. On this winter night, people donning masks who had just been singing and squabbling, fell silent in mournful meditation.”
The cinematic had all the Fatui Harbingers gathered around Rosalyne-Kruzchka Lohefalter’s coffin, mourning the loss of their Fair Lady. “In this war, not even a single pawn may be spared.” Chilling words that can only foreshadow more loss to come in the Genshin realm. Be that friend or foe, only time will tell.
