NTE Launch Special Program Stream

We are now just 11 days away from Neverness to Everness’ launch on PC, mobile devices, and PlayStation 5. As we’re getting so close to the free-to-play open-world action game's launch, the devs decided to host a special program highlighting the city of Hethereau, the characters who live there, and what kinds of activities players can take part in.

If you’ve been following the development of NTE or participated in any of the tests, then some of the information here won’t really be new to you. They explain the supernatural events and creatures known as Anomalies and how they can either be a threat or useful and friendly. They also give a bit of a history lesson on their existence, as well as a group of secret organizations known as “The Circle” that dealt with the problems Anomalies can cause. The Circle was eventually forced into the public eye during a disaster, and one of their branches, the Bureau of Anomaly Control, is who the players find themselves dealing with when the game starts.

As for the player character and all the other characters in the game, they’re “Espers”. That’s humans with supernatural abilities. Some have them from birth, some come into them later on.

The video also introduces players to some, but not all, of the game’s factions. This includes the antique shop Eibon, their associates/rivals

We’re given a look at a bit of the sights around Hethereau. Of course, like any good urban exploration game, we need ways to get around. We can take the bus or the train. But sometimes you just have to drive. So, of course, there are cars. Players can purchase cars from dealerships. Or steal them, of course. Just don’t get caught and hauled off to jail. (You can just avoid that bit by having Mint commandeer vehicles using her badge.)

For those wondering, there is a mod shop for the cars where players can tune their cars to match their driving style. Players can also switch into first-person when driving. The car’s exterior is customizable as well. Or, you can obtain less standard vehicles like go-karts and wheelchairs. I’m guessing the latter is roadworthiness because it’s an Anomaly.

Oh, yes. And players can also invite other characters to ride in the car with them. They’ll even react to the ride.

Players can also purchase their own homes in-game – everything from penthouses to an insane home in the hills. They can decorate them as well, using furniture and decorations they collect along the way. And, once again, they can bring other characters along by inviting them to live with them. That’s part of the Bond system. The higher the bond level, the more you can do with the characters.

To afford all of this, players will need money. So, they’ll have to take on missions, jobs, and other activities via the City Tycoon feature. That consists of everything from anomaly hunting to making deliveries, running a taxi service, or managing a shop.

If you participated in the tests, you’ll notice some changes to some of the activities. Mini-games have been optimized and even improved. For instance, fishing now unlocks outfits at certain milestones. Racing and mahjong are multiplayer, meaning you can compete against your friends. Or, if you’re feeling a bit like a criminal, you can even pull off a bank heist with them.

As mentioned, NTE launches on April 28. However, players will be able to pre-download starting April 27. At this point, the pre-registration milestones have been met, so players will be getting rewards at launch, as well as a bunch of other bonus goodies to celebrate the launch. The rewards are listed at the end of the stream. And yes, there were redemption codes. However, those require you to log into the game to redeem them. The good news is that they’re good until May 13. The codes are NTENOWTOENJOY, NTENANALLYGO, and NTE0429.
