New Free-To-Play Skate Reboot Rolls Into Early Access Mid-September
The multiplayer sports/sandbox game will be available on PC and consoles.
EA has revealed the Early Access release date for the Skate reboot.
The free-to-play sports/sandbox game is set to launch on September 16 across PC (EA App, Epic Games Store, Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s designed as an always-online experience, requiring both an internet connection and an EA account to play.
According to developer Full Circle, this is part of the vision for a “living, breathing, massively multiplayer skateboarding sandbox” that evolves continuously. Players can expect both major changes, such as evolving city landscapes, and smaller updates like live events and in-game activities that keep the experience dynamic.
Skate was originally announced in 2020. Some fans gained access through closed community playtests between then and now. These early builds contained microtransactions for cosmetic items, providing a preview of EA’s monetization plans. (All purchases made during testing will be refunded before the official early access launch.)
