Outriders worldslayer dev update

Outriders Worldslayer has been out for around a week now and with that comes the post-launch Dev News Update informing players of People Can Fly’s plans for the game. With a lot of experience behind them working on titles like the popular battle royale game Fortnite, Outriders is their latest live-service online shooter venture. Outriders' Philosophy of Design is that, “A key goal within game design is to ensure that the most efficient ways of playing the game should also be the most fun.”

So, while many players have been exploiting the games Retries System to farm the final Arbiter boss in the Trial of Tarya Gratar, the devs have responded by adding extra guaranteed legendary drops to other Trove areas which will add more variety when it comes to efficient farming methods because as we all know, variety is the spice of life. Compared to before, where the amount of Apocalypse Legendaries obtained from a full run through of the Trial was a minimum of 6, in the new system a complete run through all rooms in the Trial will net a player a guaranteed minimum of 9 Apocalypse Legendaries + RNG chances for others.

The same is being done with character builds as well. While several builds have become virtually indestructible and others have been created where they can instantly one-shot bosses, no nerf is currently on the way. Instead, continuing off their Philosophy of Design, and based on the idea that these builds are more fun to play, the devs have decided to take a little more time to observe the prevalence of these builds, while also figuring out ways that players can be buffed. An example of this would be the Trigger Twitch set bonus which currently is ear-marked with a significant and tasty buff.

All in all, “the plan is to ensure that when any balancing is implemented, players are given more options rather than less.” To those who would like to read more on the changes to come, please feel free to read the whole Dev Update here.
