If you didn't have the Gaming Gumbo I would say just cover the biggest news in gaming that can technically fit the online theme. Since you do have Gaming Gumbo I think you should make a priority list of different kinds of games instead of a hard yes or no. Or maybe a ... PRIORITY TIER LIST!!!
S Tier:
* Anything Bless related when Troy is on.
A Tier:
* News from major mmos.
* Industry news (Blizzard lawsuits, Twitch hack, etc.).
B Tier:
* F2P news.
* News from smaller mmos.
* News from bigger online only games.
C Tier:
* News from bigger games with online multiplayer (Smash, CoD, etc.).
D Tier:
* News from smaller games with online multiplayer.
E Tier:
* Everything else.
Press F Tier:
* To pay respect to dead games.
If a piece of news is really interesting (or has really good SEO) bump it up a tier or two. If it's boring bump it down. Then just cover stories based on their ranking until you have enough material. The tier list is in the order I would prefer but feel free to swap the order.
