I know I already had my say about Rift's battle pass, but I felt the need to elaborate. My complaint was not about 'paying for content', as there is no content here. My issue is this: Generally with 'shinies' you either pay for it, or you grind for it. With the battle pass, you are essentially paying to grind for it. Beyond that with a typical Rift event, there are dailies, weeklies, themed instant adventures, and zone events to grind for currency to get said 'shinies'. The battle pass offers only dailies and weeklies narrowing the path to obtaining such things and effectively time gating them. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't honestly believe people enjoy dailies and weeklies. Sure we do them to get the reward, but that's not the same as enjoying them. Futhermore you have to progress through 'levels' to get the reward you seek. They're basically selling you a carrot on a stick. And that's not even mentioning all the bugs, the fact that it might force PvP dailies, or the fact that some of the items aren't even account bound. If anyone is actually satisfied with this, I can't imagine why.

For the question of the week: I think we're going to see more downsizing at Daybreak. I also believe Planetside Arena won't see the light of day. I think H1Z1 is on borrowed time, with a maximum life of one year. As for the rest of the games, I don't believe they're in any immediate danger.
