For the question of the week: I don't think free to play is going away anytime soon. I think there's a bit of a tug-of-war going on between free to play and buy to play models. I play both, and I think there is room for both in the market. Certain genres (i.e. Mobas) lend more to the free to play model, while other games can take a buy to play stance based on developer or IP, or even just having a good solid game. Both options have risk and reward, and both options have supporters and nay-sayers. Pure subscriptions models are the dinosaurs nowadays, and though some still thrive, I venture to say that required subs are what is on the way out, not free to play.

An A-bomb to Bobby Bernstein, nothing annoys me more than people who label every F2P game as P2W and trash, and Bernstein is party of that group. It is as fair as saying all Muslims are terrorist or all black men are thugs and criminals. You guys were to nice to him. He makes several assertions which go counter to the facts. For every person who will not touch F2P there are 3 or 4 who will not look at a MMO unless it is. When you try to present personal opinion as facts that is poor journalism.

Great episode! You guys had fun and made it fun to watch. I dare say, best episode of the F2PCast in months.

I want to give a Da-bomb to Edengrad. I don't know if i can call it a MassiveMO since it barely passes an average of 10 players online, but if it is, it must be one of my favorite mmo's in the last years. It's a simpler Project Gorgon progression system put in Fallen Earth's setting, only recently got into it and i simply love it. It's early, it's rough, problems galore, but it eventually won me over. Da-bomb to Edengrad and to episode 226 of the F2PCast.
