MASSIVE A-bomb to RIFT... no... that's not fair... RIFT I still love you but, MASSIVE A-bomb to the Defiler rework. They took a soul that could be support, healing, and dps, had a unique way of doing so, and turned it into an uninspired DoT dps... and that's coming from someone who loves DoT classes. I know it was changed due to raiding, I don't dispute that it needed to be changed, but changing in this way... that I don't understand. My defiler was my second most played character (considering that I have two nearly full accounts of characters), and the worst part was that I had taken a break and didn't even know they were changing defiler... I knew about saboteur and paladin, but this I went into blind. I saw the announcement on the launcher, thought 'oh cool', and after fiddling around with (and enjoying) the changes to the other two souls... I logged on to poor Vi, pulled up the soul tree and just gaped at it. "Offensive soul" What?! Where's foul growth!? Where are my links!? I spent well over an hour trying builds with it, trying other souls... I finally settled on an oracle/defiler hybrid (at least I could still be support this way), but was so disheartened, that I logged out, looked at my husband and said with a sigh "I don't know if I even want to play her anymore". *Sigh* I think I'll go play Everquest for a while... at least I know my froggy monk is still a froggy monk.
