Some other ways mmorpgs could be better are thus follows. The environments are always the same. I don't know how many times I've started playing an mmo and started in a forest. I don't want a forest I want amazing environments like a glacial mountain with a volcano on it and ice birds flying around. Another way mmorpgs could be improved is by the mobs. Every mmo you see all the mobs just standing around waiting for you to come kill them. I want to see a world where the mobs live like they would in a natural habitat. If you are on a quest to get the soul of a lycan he should patrol and be doing something else when you get there. He shouldn't just be walking around in the graveyard why would he be doing that? I have more ideas but I'm going to make my own mmorpg someday so i don't want to give them all away :) Anyways gj guys ttyl and take care

I'd like to give a A-merica Bomb to Aeria games for publishing that horrible grind fest that is.... Scarlet Blade. Let me start by saying the game is absolutely soulless. My best bet on that is because whoever developed the game sold their soul to a 14 year old boy who was raised by wolves. All so they could make a poorly made mess with the only selling point being the game has slutty looking girls in it for the hopes of making a profit. The characters look like they're badly painted dolls made of glass from the hearts of deceased Aeria game employees. The gameplay is so bad that you wished you had those dolls so you could break them with a hammer and use the shards to murder your computer for even downloading that... thing. Maybe one day Aeria games will decide to publish something decent, but that would also be the day when angry aliens invade earth just to nuke Aeria games studio for publishing such a garbage game.

I think most MMO's feel too much like a means to an end these days... Players are just tired of the next one not being the one. I know sometimes I feel like the journey to cap is just the same routine. Even if a game does do something to change things up I still find myself zombified all the way to cap without any real "Wow that was awesome" moments. I think MMO's need a complete shock to the system. People are sick of farming 30 currencies and they're sick of gimmicks. Developers need to take a step back and realize that complexity doesn't create replayability. How much fun a game is to play does and the lifeblood of an MMO is replayability. They need to play their game without bias and ask did we make this game to be fun or did we make it to turn a profit.

Landmark is building only. The mmorpg part is EverQuest Next and is a separate game and not likely to be out any time soon.
