mmobomb2014

It’s time to make your voice heard and celebrate the best in free-to-play gaming from the past year, with the 2014 MMOBomb Fans’ Choice Awards!

We’ve got a slew of categories for games, from RPGs to shooters to driving (and flying) games, and we want you to help us pick the best! We’ll announce the winners on a special edition of the free-to-play podcast, and inform each game’s developer of their victory so they can bask in the glory of conquest.

As a reminder, except for the last category, only games that are currently fully available for free — not via paid early access or that require you to be picked for an alpha or beta — are eligible for rewards, even if they haven’t officially launched yet. And yes, we will be monitoring things and won’t hesitate to alter vote totals if we see any shenanigans. Keep it clean, guys!

It’s all up to you guys to help us pick the champions from the contenders, the best of the best, the cream of the crop… or just the one with the least offensive cash shop, if that’s how you want to do it.

Best F2P MMORPG (Eastern)

The birthplace of the free-to-play RPG genre is still going strong in 2014, with several well-loved games, old and new, vying for the top spot.

Best F2P MMORPG (Western)

Or maybe you prefer something with a more ‘Merican (or European) bent to it? There’s plenty to choose from!

Best F2P MOBA

Wait, there are free-to-play MOBAs? Well, color us surprised! And here we thought it was just a niche…

Best F2P Shooter

First-person or third-person… it doesn’t matter, as long as you get to blow stuff away!

Best F2P Vehicular Game

We broke out “pure” vehicle games because we thought they had a different “feel” than games with foot-based gunplay or a combination thereof. So which game gets your engine running?

Best F2P Card Game

The biggest controversy isn’t which of these games is the best, but whether they should be called “trading card games” or “collectible card games.”

Most Anticipated F2P Game

Good things may come to those who wait… but which of these games do you not feel like waiting for any longer?

EDITOR’S NOTE: Black Desert Online is not up for 2015 Most Anticipated since it has a 2016 confirmed launch date.

Voting will be closed at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time on Monday, Dec. 22. Good luck to all the nominees!

I’ve never been into digital card games but infinity Wars has been hands down the best one I played so far. Free, original and a great community

  2. Roderick on December 22, 2014

Looks like I.W. won! If you haven’t tried this game yet you probably should; I’m an older player who has played since a few days before the rise expansion and the game has improved tremendously in that time; sure there are a few bugs here and there but there’s workarounds in the meantime and any serious bugs are taken care of pretty darn quickly. I do have to say one thing though,

Simultaneous turns are wonderful things, predicting your opponents moves can mean the difference between winning a game and losing it such as with the Cult of Verore (CoV). Cult of Verore is filled to the brim with situational kill/debuff spells but knowing when and where to place your units and calling your opponent’s bluff means anyone can beat them; however if you are unprepared for the onslaught that is Verore you will probably be facedesking in frustration as the last of your defense crumbles. This really goes to show how experience and skill dictate a match much more so than anything else.

Oh and the community is great, I always try to lend new players a helping hand so if you see me ingame just send me a message!

after the pay to win death of Magic (updates create only a pay to win game) IW is the only actual TCG that not require some special cards to win in a ranked or in normal one i ask to all commenters to come in game and check yourself
i downloaded on steam and i found that TCG very impressive
    play it

  4. manoftheyear on December 21, 2014

IW is absolutely best F2P TCG in the panorama, nice community and nice game
    vote it and play it

  5. xPepe on December 21, 2014

I can´t wait for IW to become popular. It really has the potential and DESERVES to be known.

  6. BlastToBits on December 19, 2014

AirMech is certainly one of the best f2p MOBAs on that list. I’ve tried DOTA 2 and LoL, only to find its controls don’t give me complete control. Click-to-move basically reduces skill cap for getting kills, sadly. WASD is definitely much preferred, which AirMech (and maybe other games) use.
    .
There is also a ton of multi-tasking and other elements aside from kill creeps & kill enemy, which is pretty cool.
    .
Dogfighting, both air and on ground. If you like that, try AirMech.

  7. TinFoilMkIV on December 19, 2014

I just have to say, IW is freaking tied with freaking HS!
    .
Even if this only lasts a moment the fact that IW could even touch the monster that is HS backed by Blizzard says a lot.

  8. EViolet on December 19, 2014

Most Anticipated F2P Game: only one SKYFORGE, this Game is absolutely awesome….

  9. Grinnin_Gin on December 19, 2014

I find it kind of funny that most of the people who’re coming out in support of Hearthstone or other so-called ”TCGs” are typing like illiterates and are being extremely rude while the people who are coming out in support of Infinity Wars are respectful and literate. I think that says more about the quality of the game then any glowing review ever will.

  10. SE_Lain on December 19, 2014

“The biggest controversy isn’t which of these games is the best, but whether they should be called “trading card games” or “collectible card games.”” ::: t r a d i n g ::: only in Infinity Wars…

  11. Qfasa on December 19, 2014

In my opinion, from all the card games in the list only Infinity Wars has potential to be someday as great and famous as M:tG. I won’t say it doesn’t have problems but the core gameplay is very solid and unique, and all what the game needs is more polishing and content (not just new cards but more modes, more options, more “meat” on its bones) and this is just a matter of time when all these things will be in the game. Oh, and the quality control of new updates which, in my opinion, is the weakest point of the game right now.

  12. manoftheyear on December 19, 2014

hmm a lot of trolls against IW
guys download the game, try it and trust me you vote IW because in the f2p is the best TGc

  13. manoftheyear on December 19, 2014

    thumbs up for Infinity wars
i try and i still play ! IW is really not pay to win game and is funny and very addictive.
First trading game card in panorama that is good and enjoyable without spend money
is not true that gamers are unfriendly you find a lot of gamers that help you

  14. Cassiusclay on December 19, 2014

Hawken is in the vote? The game is already dead and no players in the server.
LOL that’s are the general 3 steps of all new players of hawken
    1) install the game
    2) try the tutorial and do jumping jack
    3) uninstall Hawken

  15. Cassiusclay on December 19, 2014

I dont see Might and Magic on F2p trading game that people can vote
actually after heartstone is decent TGC that you can found.
Solforge? Check the steam comments and you see how good is it lol Most of the judges of steam player on solforge is : wtf is that game!
IW such previously say that game is a mess screwed TGC i ever saw. The server is powered by coal-burning (disconnections freeze…). IWhave plenty of glitches and bugs, the community are unfriendly, rude and generally full of dumb kids with Parents CC. If you don’t trade your grandmom on trade chat your deck lose forever and ever.

    • TinFoilMkIV on December 19, 2014

While Solforge is certainly nowhere near DCG of the year, it’s not actually that bad. Definitely a matter of taste tho.
      .
In regards to Infinity Wars however several of your statements are blatantly false. For one what makes you think these issues are caused by the servers? While I generally experience little to no disconnections or freezes that weren’t caused by things outside IW that doesn’t mean some people do, and it’s possible something on your computer or your hardware isn’t playing nicely with it. (This is of course based on the assumption that you are indeed being honest here and not just spouting nonsense to take votes from a competitor)
      .
Glitches and bugs of course do exists but they are nowhere near as rampant as you make it sound. And most significant issues get attention from the devs and cards that cause serious issues (unintended effects, not fotm type cards) are even disabled from ranked play.
      .
While not impossible that you just hit a really time in chat, I’m going to call you on the community comment. The vast majority of the IW community is absolutely fantastic. This one is of course subjective but if anyone actually cares about seeing for themselves you can jump straight into global chat on the game and take a look.
      .
I don’t trade a whole lot but most people I’ve seen are quite polite and your accusations of ‘p2w’ aspects are false. You do not need to trade or spend money to build a competitive deck.

    • Your comments are way off, I really hope people don’t feed into them. IW has thee best community in any online game I have played. Being made up of mostly old magic the gathering players, and even the younger guys and gals are very mature. I played the game casually for the past 3-4 months free. I had a great collection within the first month of gameplay, again free of charge. Single player alone gives you all the starter decks + Everytime you level you get a free magic pack of IW cards (15 cards with a chance to get multiple rares epics and legendary rares) The free gamestore cash is amazing and unrivaled in any game I have played. You can be thee best player their for free. So your comments are way off, and would like to know how you came even close to this opinion. The game has a few glitches, but nothing game changing.

It is thee best free to play card game hands down, with depth and strategy oozing out of every pour. I would even dare to say its as good as Magic the Gathering and as a free game you get your cards alot easier. The trading system is amazing, with people just giving you cards if your a new player. Again single player, free game credit each game u play, a free booster pack everytime u level, oh did I mention they also have alot of quests that give you free cards and packs lol? The game is simply amazing. I played hearthstone, Pardus, Gunrox, HoN, Grepolis, etc. Infinity Wars is honestly thee best community / staff I have encountered in many many years of gaming online. It rivals even Neverwinter Nights in regards to the level of maturity of the players. You must be talking about Hearthstone when it comes to all kids playing. When I played their it was nothing but kids, and very little if no strategy involved. Do your homework and go actually play Infinity Wars. Instead of spewing on falsehoods about a game that is one of theeeeeeeeeee best free online games on the market. Almost every single game claims to be free, and lies. Well Infinity Wars is actually free, and you can be successful for free. I’ve been top 100 ingame, and even as high as top 50. They even offer weekly decks you can play that are composed of great cards of a high caliber. So even as a new player you get a choice of 5 weekly decks that are amazing to smash foes and get ideas. ETC ETC ETC Infinity Wars is the card game for you. Go into chat and ask a question of the players, they will help you. Message the staff about a problem and they promptly respond and help you fix the problem if any. I can’t say enough about this game, I haven’t played hearthstone since finding it lol. It blows hearthstone out of the water. To any old Magic the Gathering player who is reading this, Infinity Wars is for you. As well as anyone who loves trading card games. I started in Urza block in Magic, upto Kamigawa block. I craved a game I didn’t have to spend tons on just to be good, and yea Infinity Wars was it.

  16. K-leb on December 19, 2014

I’m a trainee in Lightmare Studios (believe it or not), so I get to test Infinity Wars for a couple hours on my day at work there. I’m glad to see that Infinity Wars is getting a lot of attention. It’s not winning in the category, which is really unfortunate as it’d be great for the little guys to rise up to the top, but whatever. I enjoy the game, and considering it is the first card video game that I’ve played for more than a couple minutes (which honestly is because I had to for the job, but still it’s a good excuse to actually expand my variety of video game preferences), I’m surprised. I haven’t played Hearthstone, so I can’t say whether it deserves the win, but from what I’ve heard it seems Infinity Wars mostly deserves a higher rank than that.

I’m pretty biased because I work at the company that makes the game, but still, it’s a great game and thank you to everyone who voted for it!!!

    • veryheartstone on December 19, 2014

K-leb we talk of the same game?
      the server sux
the disconnections for IW is usual
a lot of dumb spoiled kids with p2w decks
the chat remember me a travel in the mesozoic era ( no block, no filter, no Nothing!)
And your Community is full of azzholes that are rude with newcomers
you are very brave for a shill to ask voting IW!
so a full thumb down for IW

      • TinFoilMkIV on December 19, 2014

While this may be a case of just having a bad experience with running into issues and people being jerks online, I can say from my experience these are mostly untrue.

Not sure what specifically you mean by ‘server sux’ thats too vague to even comment on really.

While disconnections happen, they are pretty uncommon in my experience outside of when one player is having general connection issues not limited to just the game. The PvP aspect of the game is however Peer to Peer so region could have a large affect on that. The good news is that the switch over to server side matches is well under way scheduled for early 2015 which will also open up team formats and spectating, as well as drastically reducing the ammount of connection and desync issues.

The game is very far from p2w, as experienced veterans can completely wreck newer players even if the new player has a deck that’s currently top tier in the meta and the vet has a suboptimal one. Also its completely possible to make a competitive deck with mostly common and uncommons with only a few rares. And every single card is available to every player to gain through normal means without spending any money whatsoever.

For chat I’m not sure what you’re on again, there is a chat filter, although I cannot comment on the functionality of the block/ignore feature as I very rarely have the need to use it.

The community is freaking fantastic from my experience. If you did run into several people being rude or annoying, it happens, this is the internet, but my experience in IW says that’s far from the norm.

        • TinFoilMkIV on December 19, 2014

bleh, lack of being able to properly space replies is a pain.
          .
Also just felt I needed to add a note on the section regarding alleged ‘p2w’ aspects, the game also has a full on trading system. So you can literally trade or even straight up give cards to other players.

        • manoftheyear on December 21, 2014

totally agree with tin i never say another TCG such IW so balanced between f2p players absolutely the best TCG
          P.s
i read someone that argue that might and magic card is better Well DoC MM is better well duel of champions it IS a P2W game and IW it is not!

      • RedScaledOne on December 20, 2014

OK, I played IW for over 700 Hours jet and I can not agree with what he says.

I played Magic, Heartstone, Heroes of might and magic even some other indi card game wich name I do not know.

But IW is the Only game that made me stick actually in all my years playing games (20 by now) I never played 1 game longer than 400 hours according to steam.
And the 400 hours I spend on global agenda was over 3 years IW managed to make me stick for over 700 in under 10 Month.

I guess from my aspect nothing else need to be add.

Heartstone is too much Lucky draw for my taste and to much META

IW is about strategy and a lot of beating the meta wich is always possible since there is so many different combination of decks and cards that even if you own all cards (Like I do)
You still get beaten from time to time by some newcommer that just had the right idea with the starter deck.

and belive me you don’t need a single dime on this game to get all cards aviable in under 4 month.

      • Kevkas on December 20, 2014

Most of what you wrote is just not true, I’m sorry, but it’s plain wrong. The community in Infinity Wars is great, I’ve had nothing but good experiences with them. Just the fact that you are even saying there are ‘p2w decks’ means you either didn’t play it enough, or you failed to realize it’s not about the cards you have, it’s about HOW you use them. I’ve beat the number one top ranked player with an extremely basic deck even though he had a very powerful deck. How? Using my brain: good strategy, good calls, and good sense.

Please, before leaving a bad comment like that, make sure you are at least telling people the truth, not just bashing the game because you didn’t like it.

    • manoftheyear on December 19, 2014

totally agree with you… i voted up is very nice game

  17. Flevalt on December 18, 2014

    Most Anticipated F2P MMO

“which of these games do you NOT feel like waiting for any longer?”

Wait what? What did I vote for then? Did I vote for the most anticipated game? Or did I vote for the game that I do not feel like waiting for any longer, basically having dropped it?

  18. Mabipetalperson on December 18, 2014

Mabinogi is a game nobody cares to look at…Its amazing though…Just get past ArcheAge and my life shall be happy for another year.

  19. Hronos on December 18, 2014

Infinity Wars is the best TCG…

  20. ThorFolklore on December 18, 2014

There was only one category that I cared about – TCG.

It came down to Solforge, MM:DoC and Infinity Wars for me. Hearthstone wasn’t even worth a second look. I tried it for a week and tossed it aside forever.

Solforge has unique card levelling gameplay based on skill, predicting your next few draws and inherently, a bit of luck. It’s very polarising. You either love it or you don’t. Because of that, I couldn’t justify voting it as the best TCG (I suppose you could call it a “TCG” as it has recently just implemented a form of trading called “sharing”). Of note is that Solforge has both constructed tournaments and drafting, which is very fun. You can enter a draft for free roughly once a week, and there are regular special constructed and draft tournaments called “Weekend Warriors”.

MM:DoC has deep, complicated gameplay based on resource management and making use of hero skills (sometimes a little too complicated for newbies!). A great game that I would like to pick as the best, but until the game’s developers (Ubisoft) have a clear direction for it going forward, it doesn’t deserve this accolade (and new players should probably stay away from it). Newbies are limited to playing in Standard format, unless they want to get crushed in Open format by the veterans with OP older cards that are very hard (and expensive!) to obtain (Standard format doesn’t allow the older cards to be played). I should know, because I’ve been playing for a month, and I’m nowhere near the point of being able to compete in Open. The game is dying due to bad decisions by Ubi, there’s no doubt about that. It’s got a very P2W feel to it nowadays. A very recent development is that Ubi’s German subsidiary is taking over the game so we shall see what happens next. They have promised the implementation of draft mode, so that’s a start.

Last but certainly not least, is Infinity Wars. Where do I even begin with this little known gem! Animated(!) art on every card, a low-cost draft mode with increasingly better payouts the more games you win, best-of-3 ranked matches, comprehensive training with tutorials and bots, a proper (albeit unfinished) campaign mode, FIVE free rotating community-made decks per week to let players with smaller card collections compete on a more equal footing with the big boys, weekly quests that award free cards, in-game achievements to earn for bragging rights, a full-fledged trading system… Heck, there’s even a thriving secondary market for buying and selling cards run by community traders. Infinity Wars is the first DIGITAL TCG I’ve seen to have an active secondary market for trading!

The developers also release new expansions of around 100 cards every 3-4 months so you get around 3-4 new sets of cards every year. Oh, and did I mention how many factions there are to experiment with? Let’s just say that you’ll have some epic deck building lying ahead of you should you decide to dip your toes into Infinity Wars. While the developers are a young indie studio from Australia, they are constantly improving and they take community feedback seriously. I also can’t emphasise enough how much I enjoy the gameplay – players take SIMULTANEOUS turns with a focus on getting a read on your opponent’s game plan and countering what you predict he will do. There is a very engaging “priority” mechanic that will take new players by surprise but after a while, one gets the hang of it and learns to use it to their advantage by making game-changing plays based on “priority”.

Finally, the game has a somewhat grind-y feel but definitely not a P2W feel. Almost every single digital CCG has a level of grind if you’re trying to acquire cards without paying for them. Infinity Wars is kind enough to let you access every single card for free, provided you grind enough. Definitely a solid pick for best TCG of the year (although I admit that I’m a little biased).

    • er0s13 on December 18, 2014

damn bro, you wrote a freaken essay, didnt read lol

    • Winsanity on December 18, 2014

Very well thought out man. The game does have its flaws with some bugs and things of that nature, but overall it’s just an awesome game. Gets the right mix of a real life tcg while doing things that are only possible through a digital medium.

  21. TinFoilMkIV on December 17, 2014

looks like Infinity wars is getting some attention in these comments, and its well deserved. Not only is it quite interesting and truly making use of the digital medium, but as stated above has proper trading making it a true TCG instead of taking the easy CCG route most digital card games end up with.

  22. BlackLightning on December 17, 2014

If you want something unique and refreshing in the realm of TCGs, you would be wise to try out Infinity Wars. Trading is very much a thing and the community is second to none.

  23. PandaStick on December 17, 2014

Who fkin vote Arche Age? that’s the biggest piece of turd that got release this year beside FEAR online.

    • Anon on December 18, 2014

      ArcheAge is fantastic.
      Trion, not so much.

  24. EagleShadow on December 17, 2014

AirMech is the most under-appreciated F2P Moba out there. Sure, its not League or Dota, but at least it’s original, and has a better F2P model than any of the games on the list.
    Try it out.

    • Anonymous24 on December 18, 2014

Kind of hard to when Carbon is a scheming little douchebag.

      • Plasma on December 18, 2014

What is that supposed to mean? It IS legitimately NOT P2W….

I am SOOOO sick of warcraft-esque medieval fantasy… Uuuuugh! Just beefy guys with broadswords, fast guys with smaller swords, archers, and mages, all of which must be “balanced” such that they shatter reality (Who legitimately could stop a fire-ball casting mage? Hard to do without an assault rifle), and precious little skill in how you actually fight, but instead on the DPS, its ALWAYS the DPS!

Airmech, while sporting an anime look, is more like off-brand Decepticons with armies of battle units. Also not exactly deep, but still fun and refreshingly different. And it has MOAR DAKKA!, not slow-firing archers or mages and everything looking like it might as well be turn-based. Its awesome to behold!

        • ZhaoYun on December 19, 2014

kinda agrre with Plasma i mean i didnt play airmech for like a lot i had to quit cause i had too many games at the time and no time to play all of them but its a really fun game to play once in a while for me its one of those games where u sit for an hour or two have fun and then go to work or school or whatever

  25. Electro13 on December 17, 2014

Enough people seem to have preceded me, but it’s worth noting that Infinity Wars has a trading system implemented in it, the card art is all animated, and the gameplay is unique in so many ways.

  26. Smoshi on December 17, 2014

What the hell is Blade & Soul and why is it above H1Z1?

    • ZhaoYun on December 19, 2014

like seriously are u living under a rock or something?google it and u’ll find out what it is

  27. Dray'Gon on December 17, 2014

I’m a little disappointed to see Hearthstone leading in the TCG/CCG poll, but I guess it’s more well known being that it’s made by Blizzard. I can kinda see the appeal to it as I have tried it out, but it’s not too unique in the genre. Sure, they all have one-liners when you play or lose a minion, but the mechanics aren’t that unique.

Also, of the choices up there, only Infinity Wars actually incorporates trading, so it’s a true TCG. It’s also possible to make a very viable deck with just commons and uncommons (and maybe a few rares) so it’s not really “Pay to Win”. While I have spent money on the game, it hasn’t been a lot and it’s because I really think Infinity Wars is a great game.

    • Cassiusclay on December 19, 2014

      a lot of shill today
cmon not p2w? Are you checked in ranked play how many ppl have megaultrasuper p2w decks?
at least other games such M&M have tournaments and events IW don’t have nothing like that
the server is horrendous and no way to recovering password
IW is worst developed beta i ever saw in my entire life change a lot of things and i prolly vote you in the next year but now… MEH!

      • Shimrra3 on December 19, 2014

For the sole purpose of debunking this P2W rubbish, the better players have repeatedly made alts to get to the top 100 rankings using nothing higher than uncommon cards. Some did it with STARTER decks. There is no P2W in this game.

If you actually played any level of ranked you’d see that most people are NOT actually loaded with higher-than-rare cards. I reached 15th with a deck that has six rares and nothing higher.

      • Shimrra3 on December 19, 2014

Also, you think its still in beta? That only proves you don’t have any idea of how the game has progressed, IW has been out of beta for months now. That’s like walking into a construction site to look at the foundation and then years later complaining that they hadn’t installed the walls and ceiling yet.

      • MerliniX on December 19, 2014

I feel like I have to comment on this one. At the time of the ranked reset I had 3 accounts in top 100, 2 accounts in top 10, and one account in the #2 spot.

The decks I used can be built almost entirely with basic commons and uncommons, the bulk of which you get for free for completing the campaign. In my most expensive decks I ran around 7 rares.

        Seven.

You can build these decks, entirely for free, after playing the game for around 10 hours.

If you wish to check my credentials I would be happy to verify both in game or on stream.

  28. Grinnin_Gin on December 17, 2014

The only decent f2p card game is Infinity Wars. Hearthstone is for kids with half a brain, MTGO is a bug ridden mess, Might and Magic, well thats more than a bit niche, Sol Forge is meh, and who the heck ever heard of Card Hunter.

Now I know its far too much to ask in a discussion about video games to have people not constantly throwing insults at other games as part of their argument of “why my game is better”, but I have to say that the above comment is quite blatantly false.
        .
you don’t have to take my word for it though, its free and available both on steam and as a standalone, so if you’re interested in card games it wont hurt to check it out to see for yourself.
        .
Heck you can spend 5 minutes after logging in on global chat and you should see just how wrong these accusations are.

        • manoftheyear on December 21, 2014

tin this “total commenter ” is a troll for me …

      • Benionin on December 19, 2014

When did you try IW? Disconnections and bugs are, for the most part, dealt with and there has been great progress made in the past few months on that front.
And I’m not entirely when you are in chat but I can only think of two times in my whole experience that players have actually been as toxic and rude as you insinuate (and are).
And while I don’t play ranked, I do exceptionally well and manage to beat high-profile players without putting a single cent into the game.
And while there is no tournament infrastructure built in, players and devs have run several tournaments on their own.
So really, it is more than just a “decent” F2P game. It’s a great F2P game.

I don’t know when you tried infinity wars Total, but what you just said is plain wrong.

There aren’t a lot of disconnections (I play every single day, without ANY issues whatsoever), bugs are fixes all the time through monthly (sometimes even weekly) patches, and the community is helpful, and also respectful. No one can rape newcomers with $$ simply because it’s a free to play game, you don’t even need to pay to get special cards, you can get each and EVERY single cards by playing for free. Also, weekly tournaments are coming next week, and there have been monthly tournaments for several months now.

Seriously, I don’t know where you got the impression IW is the way you said it is, but that’s just not the case.

I’d just like to point out that Infinity Wars is actually a TCG, because it HAS trading in it. That, and the fact that each and every card in it is animated by professional artists makes it stand out from the rest of the card games suggested in the poll.

  30. Winsanity on December 17, 2014

Just for reference, as opposed to the other games on the best ftp card game list you can actually TRADE in Infinity Wars. And the trading system is done very well.

You guys made a mistake by stating “Black Desert Online is not up for 2015 Most Anticipated since it has a 2016 confirmed launch date.” The game is slated to be released in 2015 and not 2016. Where do you guys get your information from? like seriously do better research.

    • RAWASA on December 19, 2014

Oh my bad they just updated the release date, I retract the statement above and will not doubt MMOBOMB again because thy fabulous.

sad to so league winning while dota 2 is a better game :/ I guess all the scrubs are on today

    • Smoshi on December 17, 2014

Honestly, Smite is better than all of them. Who the hell wants to play a “click to move” game when you can play a game with WASD controls and actual skill shots.

      • Seanny Chwan on December 18, 2014

Smite is not better ..Smite is different

        • Anon on December 18, 2014

Actually Smite is significantly better *because* it’s different.
LoL and DOTA lack a severe layer of depth because of the perspective change.

It really changes everything. The skill shots are real, the auto attacks are real. That’s not to say DOTA and LoL don’t require any skill, however it’s apparent and obvious they require much less.

Smite introduced the MOBA style of the future. I hope LoL and DOTA can adapt because right now they’re actually holding the genre back. Luckily Smite is slowly but surely picking up steam, as all the other new MOBAs fall apart for sticking their nose into the past, which has been solidly locked down by LoL and DOTA. I think both games would be absolutely fantastic if they altered the gameplay to be like Smite.

          • ZhaoYun on December 19, 2014

I actually disagree with you on that one.Just because something is different it doesnt necceserely make it better and not to “dish out” smite i find it a great game and all but a lot of players prefer dota/lol style mobas over smite because smite has a different camera angle(yes believe it or not)i personally would prefer smite over lol anyday as far as “skilled” gameplay cause ye its pretty obvious if u play lol/dota a bit and smite a bit u can tell smite requires more skill and ya i am talking as a moba player who used to play A LOOOOOT of dota 1 back in the day

          • kazz on January 6, 2015

Just because Smite is different, doesn’t mean its better. Smite wasn’t the 1st to concept 3rd person moba. There were others that did it before Smite, exmple search for LOCO (already dead). Each game have it’s skills depending on its play style. For exmaple PoE earned plenty of awards and was the best MMORPG, and its camera style is not the traditional 3rd person as all mmorpg’s. I don’t think the future is like Smite, many people prefer the click to move. In moba i prefer click, mmorpg WASD.

      • kazz on January 6, 2015

Dude, moba with WASD is not a real moba. I am a LoL player and I would say that DOTA 2 is a real good moba too. If I vote I would say LoL for moba, just because DOTA 2 is not my style but it could be the number 1 on list too. I don’t feel confortable on playing moba with 3rd person. That’s just my opinion, cheerz…

    • Seanny Chwan on December 18, 2014

I know rite .. i guess world is full of noobs and boring casual gamers ..they are not competitive at all …so yeh the vote won over dota2

  33. Vinal on December 17, 2014

You should disable results until the actual poll reveal to make it fair

  34. Fandall on December 17, 2014

I’m disappointed not to see War INC Battlezone here, since it’s quite fun and interesting game that takes a step back from fast paced action shooter and puts you more into a strategic setting. Also, Neverwinter DnD is missing, Dragon Nest?

  35. Emanus on December 17, 2014

There should be the most horrendously buggy game of the year , i bet Warframe will win that one

    • Urs-00 on December 17, 2014

      you never played Archeage? xD

HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY?
