Black Desert Online’s Latest Update Reverts The Movement Changes
It seems players were uncomfortable with the changes.
Black Desert Online dropped a new patch today containing 205 updates. It seems the majority of these were class changes and improvements. There were also some changes to items, monsters, and quests, but what the developers list as “major updates” consist of the changes made to the changes of Character movements.
It seems that recently the developers tried to improve the basic moment of classes – starting with Archer and Guardian. The hope was to offer more natural movement, but it seems that maybe natural movement doesn’t always translate well to games. Whatever the reason, players complained that it felt uncomfortable, so the devs tried again and they still got complaints. As of this patch, it’s been rolled back to the original movement type.
That doesn’t mean that things won’t change in the future, however. According to the patch notes, they’ll be taking a closer look at what makes controls more comfortable for players.
