Bungie Offers Insight Into New Abilities Coming In "Void 3.0" For Destiny 2
Several other combat tweaks are in the works.
In its big reveal of the next expansion for Destiny 2 earlier this week, Bungie also dropped some info about what was to come during the rest of the year, and next year, for the game. That included two new subclasses for each Light power group, and yesterday Bungie informed players about what would be coming soon for Void users of every Guardian class.
The "Void 3.0" update will add new keywords to abilities and their effects -- as well as some weapons and armor -- similar to the Slow, Freeze, and Shatter keywords used by Stasis abilities. Three of them are debuffs you apply to enemies, like Volatile, which makes them explode upon taking further damage or dying; and three are buffs that apply to you, like Invisibility, which -- well, you don't need me to explain that one.
The blog post describes two Void abilities for each Guardian class, and these are just the beginning of how Bungie intends to "reforge" combat. Other changes coming down the pipe include a "reduction to how many one shot kill abilities are available in the Crucible" and "making ammo generation a more deterministic and consistently paced experience across all activities." The article said these changes will see the game "evolving for the better," and if anyone knows about "combat evolved," it's Bungie.
