If You Were Recently Banned In Marvel Rivals And Did "Nothing Wrong," Go Check. Your Ban May Have Been Lifted
We always hear that players did nothing wrong when banned, but this time it may be true for some.
Look, we hear it all the time, right? "I was banned but I didn't do anything wrong." Hell, sometimes, but not often, it's actually true!
Fun side story: recently we purchased a copy of Path of Exile 2 and linked the Steam copy to one of the MMOBomb PoE accounts. Turns out, the account was one of our "not really used" accounts and it was hacked back in 2020 and apparently banned.
Why PoE 2 let us link a purchase on Steam to that account, we have no idea. We didn't even know the account had even been banned or hacked. Anyway, they denied the ban appeal for whatever reason. So yeah, we totally didn't do anything, but thems the breaks, I guess.
Anyway, I digress.
Turns out, some of you Marvel Heroes players may have found your way onto the ban list for cheating recently. As it also turns out, you may not have actually done anything wrong. The hero-shooter has been taking cheating pretty seriously, as it should. That doesn't mean their systems always get it right, though.
According to one of the game's community managers on the official Discord, "Recently, we've received feedback from players regarding an issue where some individuals playing in compatibility layer programs have been mistakenly flagged as cheaters, even without using any cheating software. This has resulted in bans. We sincerely apologize for this situation and want to assure you that we do not & will not ban players who are playing fairly and without cheating."
Bans have been lifted where appropriate and the team has located the issue on their side and addressed it, so hopefully this won't be an issue going forward.

P.S. Don't forget that NetEase will be releasing info on the Fantastic Four coming to the game soon. We expect the reveal to happen on Monday with a collaboration coming up with other Marvel games, like Marvel SNAP, too.
