Want to win a quarter of a million dollars by playing Magic: The Gathering Arena? The MTG Arena Mythic Invitational is coming in March and is just what it sounds like -- an "invitational" tournament. 56 of the 64 competitors have already been selected "for having both the skill and the audience that will excite fans."

The last eight, however, will be pulled from the ranks of MTG Arena players, specifically the best constructed players in February's Mythic rankings. To qualify, you just need to play ranked games and finish in the top eight over Feb. 1-28. Wizards of the Coast will publish the top 100 list on a weekly basis throughout the month, and contact the top eight on March 4, offering them an all-expenses-paid trip to PAX East March 28-31 to compete in the championship event. At stake is $1 million in cash, with $250,000 of that going to the winner.

WotC is calling the tournament an exhibition, so it won't figure into rankings to determine competitors in the first MTG Arena Mythic Championship, which will take place in mid-2019. To learn more about the Invitational and other events, read up on the MTG Arena site.
